INTRODUCING CAMPAIGN 55

“Campaign 55” Aim

The “Campaign 55” group is dedicated to the aim of either expanding Stamford Bridge to a 55,000 capacity or moving to a new 55,000 seater stadium within a 3km vicinity of the current site, at Earl’s Court or Battersea.  Indeed at the first Fans Forum held on 03/10/2004, the Club stated “Our aim is for a 50,000 stadium”.

How can this aim be achieved?

By working with Hammersmith & Fulham Council, Chelsea Pitch Owners and the board of Chelsea Football Club to find a solution that is best for all parties, from local stakeholders to supporters on low incomes who are increasingly finding themselves priced out of watching their team.  Whilst corporate hospitality is roundly vilified by the traditional match-going fan, an expansion in corporate capacity at a 55,000 seater stadium could be the key to subsidising cheaper seats to assist the many Chelsea fans currently struggling to afford match tickets.
