Campaign55 Launch Update
by Campaign55
It’s been a busy time for the Campaign55 group. It’s fairly easy to decide to launch such an enterprise, but to get it off the ground requires individuals with different skills sets and a willingness to work to meet deadlines which may or may not be of your choosing. For instance, we know that there will be a Chelsea Pitch Owners EGM in June.
That means that the board of CPO could be making an announcement about the date any day now. For Campaign55 to have any impact, and have the best opportunity of getting the fan in the street involved, we needed to mobilise fairly quickly.Happily, for even the less technically minded amongst the group (me) it’s fairly easy to open a Twitter account for the Campaign and an email account.
But someone as adept as Adil can have a field day, as you’ll be able to see if you visit the facebook page. Fancy designing your own stadium? We’ve got a tutorial for that! Please keep your questions coming to the Twitter and gmail addresses, or by commenting on the Facebook page.
Letters of introduction, together with our mission statement, were emailed to Bruce Buck and the CPO board last Monday. These have been acknowledged by Mr Buck and Steve Frankham on behalf of the CPO board. Once they’ve had a chance to study these, we hope that they will come back to us CPO have a crucial role in not only the stadium’s present, but also the future. There are something in the region of 12000 CPO shareholders – not a huge proportion of the fanbase as a whole.
One of the questions I’m most frequently asked is when shares are likely to go back on sale. This is something that can only be decided by the CPO board, but it is also the only way in which more of our fans can have a say in the future of CPO. Meanwhile, it is crucial that the fanbase as a whole has an input into whether the club expands or relocates, and we would like to be a bridge between the fans and the board of the football club, in conjunction with the existing supporter organisations.
Look out for more exciting developments in the coming weeks!
